@davidbisset I initially read the reverse, Webpage to Youtube, which I think could also be interesting as a form of preservation. Like scroll through the page and click links.

I recorded a “full spectrum” demo video of what you can do with the Friends plugin combined with related plugins: https://youtu.be/kHaODAUazwE

This includes:

  • Add your friends = subscribe to their RSS feed
  • An overview of settings
  • Follow someone via RSS and ActivityPub
  • Access your blog via a Mastodon client
  • Posting via a Mastodon Client
  • Follow someone on Mastodon via the Firefox extension
  • Multiple feeds per person
  • Reply to a toot via the extension
  • Collect a post from the web
  • Edit a collected post
  • Fulltext search all posts
  • Fetch full content for a post
  • Feed Rules for muffling posts
  • Send posts to your E-Reader
  • Customize Sidebar
  • Subscribe to image feeds
  • Compact View
  • Emoji-Reacting to posts
  • Replying to posts
  • Developer Docs

@kraftner I was more surprised by the amount of company references in a keynote and showcase of their own work. I would have expected it to be more about Drupal Core

@tchambers Via the ActivityPub plugin. Friends does ship a bunch of AP functionality that is (currently) outside of AP’s scope: the ActivityPub plugin handles outgoing content and incoming replies, Friends handles all incoming content and interaction (i.e. following people, handling boosts, likes, and replying, adding support for https://wordpress.org/plugins/enable-mastodon-apps/ so that you can use Mastodon mobile apps to view your feed etc.)
