At the Matrix Community Summit 2023 that took place in September 2023, I gave a rather technical talk about our learnings regarding Migrating the WordPress Community from Slack to Matrix.
The WP Tavern has been following our efforts and posted several times about it:

We’ve also been holding, and continue to, weekly meetings in the WordPress meta chat, and publish our meeting notes afterwards.
