Alex Kirk is a web application programmer and experienced lead of remote teams, based in Vienna, Austria.
I received my MSc in Computer Sciences from the Technical University of Vienna in 2005.
From 2006 to 2008 I worked for Netvibes in Paris, after that I worked as a freelance developer for various projects. In 2013, I went for 6 months on a round the world trip visiting Malaysia, Bali, Australia, Tasmania, Tonga, Chile, and Argentina. Since 2014, I’m working with Automattic.
In my personal time, I created and maintain the Friends Plugin and the Enable Mastodon Apps plugin which I believe can help us return to the original idea of a decentralized web. On this site you can learn about these and other plugins that I created as well as presentations that I gave.
