I just released the WordPress Friends Plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/friends/ version 2.6.0. Biggest change: no local user will be created anymore when just following someone (via RSS, Mastodon, etc.). Other improvements include an improved status view on your local friends page, share posts on your friends page and more. @alex Does this plugin connect to Mastodon via the WordPress ActivtyPub plugin or on it's own?
@alex That looks like a great release. The “creating local user” feature is what was putting me off testing. 👍
